Testing Information

M-STEP testing has begun.  8th grade has testing again tomorrow.  It is crucial that students bring their fully charged computer to school on testing days.  If you are worried that your machine will not hold a charge, bring your charging cord too.

 

STEM Club

Girls’ 8th grade  STEM club is meeting at lunch today in Mr. Kipfmiller’s room .

 

Media Center News

2 more days...That's how long you have to return your books to the Media Center before we close for renovations on Friday. Check your locker, check your backpack, check your cars and check at home and get those books back by this Wednesday!

 

Softball News

The Northeast 7th Grade Softball team opened their season last night with a loss and a tie against Freeland.  McKenna Sanders and Grace Schloop pitched very well for the Vikings, striking out 17 batters between the two of them.  Hayden Purvis led the team in stolen bases and runs scored and Morgan Williams hit the first home run of the season!  The 7th grade team plays again Wednesday in Hemlock.

 

Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to work concessions for Northeast Little League opening day this Saturday.  If you are interested in volunteering, please see Mrs. Formsma in room 158 as soon as possible.

 

NE Night at The Loons

The Viking Parent Association (VPA) would like to invite families and staff to come on out to support the Great Lakes Loons at their game on Tuesday, April 23. Game time is 6:05pm. Check the parent section of the announcements for more details.

 

Raising Gold for the May Family (Th)

Vikings for Friendship would like to thank all those who bought spirit sticks for the May family.  We will continue to sell spirit sticks on Friday May 10 and Friday May 24 to support the VFF club and our next fundraiser.

Tissue Needed

We are coming up to the end of the year and our supply of kleenex/facial tissue is running very low.  If you can spare a box or two, we would greatly appreciate you dropping it off to the office or sending it with your child.

 

NE Night at The Loons

The Viking Parent Association (VPA) would like to invite families and staff to come on out to support the Great Lakes Loons at their game on Tuesday, April 23. Game time is 6:05pm. Get your tickets by contacting Joe at 989-837-6165. NE will have a block of stadium seats at $10/seat. Our Northeast 7/8 Choir will be singing the National Anthem at this game as well! We will have prize drawings for all students that attend so please mention NE and your student's name when calling Joe for tickets. Please plan on wearing Northeast spirit wear or green! Can't wait to see our NE Viking Pride!

 

Popcorn Seasonings Needed

We are completely out of popcorn seasonings for students to use on popcorn days. If you happen to think of it when you are grocery shopping, please grab a container or two and send into the office for the upcoming popcorn days. The students thank you!

Snow Day Status Update

Midland Public Schools’ staff, students and families should plan that June 10, 11, 12 WILL BE REGULAR SCHOOL DAYS to make up the three inclement weather days that need to be rescheduled.  However, please keep in mind that winter is not over and should we need additional inclement weather days, June 13 and 14 may also be needed to be scheduled as regular school days as well.
