Any 8th grade student that is interested in visiting the Welding, Building Trades or Engineering programs at the high school, please sign up with Mr. Filipek before Friday, March 27th.
Join us in the Room Where it Happens! It's our second week of Hamil-month at Broadway Club & we'll be focusing on the notorious Aaron Burr, Sir. We'll also be voting for our favorite songs in round two of our Hamilton song bracket. You won't want to miss it! Click Boom.
We are getting ready for our honor/recognition program. Part of that is to make sure we do not miss recognizing any students who made the honor roll. Mrs. Brown has posted the list that we have in the office window. Please review this list. If your name is not on it and you think it should be, see Mrs. Brown in the office and she will double check. Remember that we are using the 1st Semester Grades.

MPS Active Ally Program
Our district has always been committed to ensuring excellent physical safety for our students and staff. We know, though, that psychological safety is equally as important. Students who feel safe and supported can engage more easily and learn more effectively. Ensuring excellent psychological safety creates a learning environment where students can thrive.
As a first step to better support students, we’ve created the Report & Respond system. This system is designed to provide a “safety net” for every student. Sometimes students experience situations that are hurtful, embarrassing or difficult to handle. They may not know who to trust or may not feel comfortable asking for help. They may just need to be heard.
Report & Respond is built around a network of Active Allies. We’ve designated a team of teachers to serve as Allies. These Allies have been trained in the Report & Respond process and equipped to be an effective resource for all students. When a student needs help, they can reach out to one of at least five Allies in their school building. The Ally will receive the student with care, provide confidential support, and help to resolve the issue as needed.
We’re confident that the Report & Respond system will be a key part of creating a safe, supportive learning environment for all. A huge thanks goes out to our first team of Active Allies, who have been so willing to serve. We appreciate your commitment and enthusiasm!
Please take a minute to make sure that your student is aware of Report & Respond, and that they know which teachers are the designated Active Allies for their building.
Active Allies at Northeast include: Ms. Brown, Ms. Groulx, Mr. Johnson, Ms. Valley, Ms. Volmering, and Ms. Witherspoon.
The Viking Parent Association (VPA) has a Facebook page. Please like us to keep informed on what we are doing to support Northeast students.
All students that are not with a coach, with a teacher, or at the ROCK must vacate the building by 3:10 daily. If you are unable to pick up your child by 3:10, the ROCK program is open at Northeast until 5:00. If you’d like more information on that program, their contact information is: 989-835-2542, email@example.com, www.therockc4yd.org.
Yearbooks are for sale and can be purchased online or by picking up an order sheet and turning in the envelope to the office. To order on-line, visit ybpay.lifetouch.com and use the code: 4908020. The price for a yearbook is $32.
